Microcontroller  based home security


        Think of a security system that informs the problem directly to the person who can solve it.This project is about an sms based security system that informs the problem to an already noted mobile number through sms.Here three security problems can be detected they are intruder detector , metal detector , temperature sensor.
        The intruder detection system works based on infrared rays emmission and detection.A thermister is used to sense the raise in temperature .This can be used as temperature/fire alert.And finally a proximity detector is used for metal detection.
        These sensors outputs are interfaced to the microcontroller for analysis and raising alarm.At the same time an lcd ,is also interfaced to the microcontroller , which can display where exactly the problem is.This type of annunciation helps in knowing exactly ,where the problem is.This information is also transmitted to another cellphone ,whose number is already fed into the program in the form of sms message.To achieve this the microcontroller is also interfaced to the cellphone through serial port and this interface uses AT commands for sending commands and the data to the cell phone and also to interact with cellphone also.
         This can be used at homes/offices and a cellphone is required to be placed with it .And the mobile number to which the problem to be informed is fed in the program written in microcontroller.
