To meet the expected P/L reduction of US$243M for Storage operations cost center Capacity upgrade on EDL to have virtual Tape System for APPC to reduce about 94M against the Sun Storagetek Tape libraries and Drives To implement thin provisioning for all HDS production frames to have an expected cost avoidance of USD 220M for 4 years. To complete technology refresh for mainframe and Midrange EMC frames to save maintenance and also to reduce the P/L about 376M over 4 year 2. To meet the expected maintenance saves of USD$2283M for storgate operations cost center Reduction of US$94M against Sun tape library and Drive Maintenance by Virtual tape implementation Reduction of US$2000M against EMC and HDS Maintenance by Technology refresh initiatives Reduction of US$190M against Fujitsu switch/Decru/Centristor/IFS maintenance charges 3. To meet the expected 2.2 MM of optimization saves for Storage cost center. Above could be a part of this overall save Complete the technology refresh of midrange and mainframe storage frames Centristor technology refresh and Decru sunset Reduction in link utiliation for SG-HK 2.5 GB links Expense growth reduction projects and initiatives which would include below items Thin provisioning implementation on HDS production Reclamation and re-deployment of TPK bunker frames for production implementation 41TB usable RAID-10 to RAID-5 implementation for the rest of production in line with Technology refresh Copy Direct Manager's Goal Business Expansion and Improving capabilities: Complete all strategic initiatives for Storage on time, on budget and with execution excellence Ensure virtualized storage configuration available for production and UAT to have better provision capabilities and also to reduce the overall expenses for allocation Explore and implement de-dup technology backup implementation in line subject to CATE approvals, against centristor configured for wintel backups and additional capacity requirement for Midrange Backup systems Implementation of alternate solution for current archival system for NICE 2. Support Job rotation to take leverage on technical expertise across storage teams for Midrange Storage 2. Support the right shoring commitments for Midrange storage operations and AWS plans 3. To have at least 2 get together with Storage operations and ISG to improve on team communication. 4. Work with management to have a dedicated team and a unit manager for supporting in country SAN/NAS and backup infrastrcuture 5. Work with Regional in country storage Manager: To have standardized configurations are implemented for Regional in country storage leveraging on APPC expertise and automations available and planned To have standardized and common RCSA for NAS. To have standardized PCM and RCSA for NAS implementation subject to compliance and access availability To have standard monitoring across all NAS Filers in APPC and Regional. Also to have automated data collection policies for regional SAN configurations To ensure Audit and compliance readiness for in-country storage and to have consistency of process with standard procedures.
