Please send this e-mail template to all groups participating in a COB test, so that there can be no misunderstanding as to the SRDF operations that they require.
In order to avoid confusion it is important that SAN staff have the opportunity to read the requests, as telephone conversation can be misunderstood.
An email in the form below will allow SAN staff to cross check the request, and fully understand the requirement. We suggest the format below, however this can be adjusted.
The subject field MUST be in the format "COB TEST - 'production server name'
All emails must be sent to the distribution group " *GT EMEA TI Distributed Storage Mgmt "
If an email is sent and there is a mistake in the detail, join the conference call and clearly say
"SAN TEAM, URGENT MESSAGE, SAN TEAM" once we have responded please explain the issue.
On completion of the request the SAN team will reply allowing the COB test or Production restoration to continue.

If the data created during the COB test IS NOT REQUIRED after the COB test then send a mail containing :-
'production server' and 'COB server name'
SPLIT REQUIRED NOW
I will not require the COB data after the COB TEST.

On completion of COB testing if a SPLIT was requested then send a mail containing :-
'production server' and 'COB server name'
ESTABLISH REQUIRED NOW
I do not require the COB data after the COB TEST.

If the data during the COB test IS REQUIRED after the COB test then send a mail containing :-
'production server' and 'COB server name'
I will require the COB data after the COB TEST.
FAILOVER REQUIRED NOW.
