DESCRIPTION

sandb_add contains the command subset required to add objects into SanDB.

COMMANDS

-add_meta_to_host
Add_meta_to_host will assign storage to a host based on the wwn of the host, and the director/port path that it takes to that meta. Please note that in order for this command to be effective, you MUST choose the correct path for your storage (remember RED=low director numbers, BLUE=high director numbers).

-add_array
Add_array adds array objects into SanDB.

-add_array_pair
Add_array_pair will create an array pairing relationship between arrays in diverse buildings. This means that within an SRDF scenario, a meta will only be sho wn as available if it has no masking associated with it AND its partner has no associated masking as well. Although not really important within a local storag e array, array pairing must be defined in order for SanDB to make valid assumptions with regard to free space.

In order to create a pairing relationship within SanDB, both the source and target SID must be defined in FULL.

-add_host
Add_host will add a host object into SanDB. You must run add_host for each WWN present within the SAN environment (so if you have 2 paths to your storage, the n you will need to run -add_host for both WWN instances).

-add_dir
Adds a director object into the database.

-add_port
Adds a port object into the database.

-sid <FULL_SID>
Please note!! - the 3 digit shortened name is not sufficient, you must pass in the complete SID value which should be exactly 12 digits long.

-model <model>
The model string that is passed within the SYMCLI (DMX2000S/3000-M2/etc)

-internal_name <int_name>
The internal site name given to the storage

-bu <GEN|FLEX>
At present the only acceptable tags are GEN and FLEX.

-host <hostname>
Hostname assigned to the host instance.

-wwn <wwn>
This is the full WWN of the associated host (can be entered either with or without semicolons)

-lpfcid <lpfcnumber>
This is the digit associated with the lpfc card instance (so 0 should match to the red fabric, and 1 to the blue).

-bldg <CGC|RDC>
Building code associated with where the server is physically located.

-dir <director>
This is the director address (e.g. 7a).

-port <port>
This is the port address (e.g. 0)

-metaid <metaid>
This is the metaid to be associated. It is acceptable to pass either a single metaid, or multiples if they are comma separated.
