This section describes how to install the Device Manager agent for the following supported platforms.
Caution:
Make sure the following commands are not running
before starting the installation otherwise the operation may
fail:
HiScan, hdvmagt_account, hdvmagt_schedule, hldutil, hbsasrv,and

| -At least 70 MB of free space is required on the hard disk.Also, an additional 70 MB of free space is required on the system drive to create temporary files during installation. | |||||

This section describes how to set up the Device Manager agent. There are two methods for setting up the agent.
| -Set up during a new installation. | |||||
| -Set up using command lines. | |||||
| The following set up of the Device Manager agent is enabled continuously during a new installation. Follow the instructions on the wizard to execute the set up. | |||||
| 1. Specify the Device Manager server information | |||||
| Enter the IP address or host name, port number, user ID, and password of the Device Manager server. A connection to the server will be verified using this information. | |||||
| 2. Specify the Execution Period for HiScan | |||||
| Information on the host will be periodically gathered and sent to the Device Manager server via HiScan. Enter the desired time interval for the agent to execute HiScan. If the Device Manager agent is installed on multiple hosts, it is best to set the HiScan execution time to once a day at different times for each host. | |||||
| 3. Specify the setup of RAID Manager | |||||
| Enter the RAID Manager installation directory and configuration property. | |||||
| If you choose to set up the agent at a later time, refer to the setup instructions using command lines to manually set up the Device Manager agent. | |||||
| The following set up of the Device Manager agent is executed manually after an installation. | |||||
| 1. Specify the Device Manager server information | |||||
| Execute hdvmagt_account.bat (for Windows(R)) or hdvmagt_account (for UNIX) at the command prompt to set the IP address or host name, port number, user ID, and password of the Device Manager server. | |||||
